Louisville, KY & Asheville, NC Estate and Trust Lawyer
About Worthington Law Firm
I started my law firm in 2010 to help people with the choices involved in planning for their families and carrying out their relatives’ wishes. I expanded to Asheville, North Carolina in 2019 to bring this same level of service to this growing community and to return to my roots as a North Carolina lawyer. I work with the tax and other legal complications that go along with dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s so that you can focus on family matters. Even so, working with a lawyer to make your own will or to serve as personal representative of a family member’s estate can be challenging. To make these jobs easier, I work to keep costs and time-frames predictable.
I offer a flat fee for preparing many wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives. For other work where I charge an hourly fee, I will work closely with you to make sure it fits your expectations.
We will usually end every meeting or conversation with a commitment about each of our next steps, when they will be done, and when we will talk next.
The 21st Century is an exciting time to practice law because of the technology that lets me serve my clients with efficiency and innovation. I am actively involved in a number of professional groups developing the responsible use of that technology. For example, the use of desktop scanners allows me to access client files away from the office. This means that if I am away from the office and someone needs to discuss a matter or simply to have a document emailed, a secure connection is all that is needed.
